// about me

Software Engineer & Web Developer

Los Angeles, California6+ years professionalFull-stack engineer

I’m a software engineer with over 8 years of experience building scalable web applications and digital products, currently based in Los Angeles.

My passion for programming began at the age of 14, when I taught myself PHP, MySQL, CSS, and JavaScript. Since then, I’ve continued to expand my expertise, building modern web applications with frameworks such as Ruby on Rails and frontend technologies like React.

I enjoy creating tools and systems that streamline development workflows, improve efficiency, and enhance user experiences. Whether working on backend architecture, frontend interfaces, or full-stack solutions, I’m driven by a passion for building software that is both scalable and impactful.

Outside of software development, I enjoy fitness, playing piano and guitar, video games, and exploring emerging technologies. I’m always looking for opportunities to learn, grow, and stay at the forefront of the ever-evolving tech landscape.

Experience

Software Engineer
@ The Silverlogic
Aug 2020 – June 2026
Remote / Boca Raton, FL
  • Developed and maintained full-stack web applications as part of an 7/8 engineer team using Django (Python) on the backend and React on the frontend, adapting quickly to a production codebase from day one.
  • Built and shipped multiple cross-platform mobile applications using React Native and desktop applications using Electron, delivering polished experiences across iOS, Android, and desktop.
  • Built a Bitcoin ATM application for a client using Electron, C#, and Python handling hardware integration, transaction logic, and cross-language communication deployed across 3,000+ machines nationwide.
  • Designed and managed relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL), handling schema design, query optimization, and migrations in production environments.
  • Practiced DevOps including infrastructure automation with Ansible, containerized production deployments on Kubernetes, and cost-efficient Docker based deployments for smaller services.
  • Wrote and maintained REST APIs consumed by web and mobile clients, with a focus on performance, security, and maintainability.
  • Architected end-to-end technical solutions, defining API structure, data models, and system design with scalability in mind to minimize future rewrites.
  • Mentored junior engineers through code reviews, PR feedback, and hands-on guidance; broke down complex requirements into well-scoped Jira stories to keep delivery on track.
Web Developer / Project Manager
@ Freelance
Jan 2012 – Present
Los Angeles, CA
  • Delivered nine medium-to-large projects for clients across multiple industries using PHP, JavaScript, and MySQL, meeting all deadlines and requirements.
  • Managed the full project lifecycle from requirements gathering to deployment, serving as both developer and project lead.
Sales Representative

Education

Flatiron School

Oct 2019 – Mar 2020
Software Engineering

I chose this program because of my passion for web development and user-focused design. At Flatiron School, I learned the fundamentals of backend development step by step, progressing from procedural Ruby to object-oriented programming, then building applications with Sinatra and eventually developing full-featured APIs using Ruby on Rails.

The experience was especially valuable because, although I already had experience with languages such as PHP, I had never built a complete API from scratch. The curriculum exposed me to practical software engineering concepts and modern development practices that complemented, and in some cases exceeded, what I had previously learned in college.

I also expanded my frontend skills by learning React. Thanks to my JavaScript background, I quickly became proficient with the framework and applied it to real world projects. A foundation I continue to build on with React Native for cross-platform mobile development.

National University of Colombia

2013 – 2016
Computer Engineering

Gaining admission to the program was challenging and required three attempts, but the effort was well worth it. Once accepted, I had an incredibly rewarding academic experience.

During my studies, I learned both procedural and object-oriented programming using C++ and Java, while building a strong foundation in data structures, discrete mathematics, and computer engineering concepts. I gained hands-on experience with hardware programming and designing digital circuits with breadboards and transistors to create logic gates, and working with Verilog for hardware design.

Prior to the program, my experience was primarily web development with little exposure to these languages and concepts. I quickly developed a passion for them, and the deeper understanding of computer science fundamentals made me a stronger, more well-rounded engineer.
